Ideas for Blurring the Line Between Homes & Offices

Since so many people nowadays spend half of their waking hours behind a desk, there is a growing number of ideas on how to make it all more comfortable, not only the sitting part, but the mere notion of being stuck in an office, whether big or small. Something worth considering is the fact that the same office work, when done from home, is usually done more efficiently and for less time. The main reason for this is the greater freedom one has when home, but also the more relaxed atmosphere. So how can we implement some of that goodness within the office? Read on to find out.

The most common technique for adding a more homely feeling to an office space is to turn to organic materials like wood furnishings into the rather cold, glass-filled rooms. For instance, you can set an area for relaxation and conversations where employees can have a cup of coffee without staring at a screen. However, not just any coffee table will do. As I already mentioned, an office should feel warm and welcoming, and the items added for that purpose should be able to grow on everyone present. Such example is a walnut office coffee table.

For getting the best of both worlds, look for a strong and durable combo of natural wood and metal. Such an office coffee table would have a smooth table top hat displays a rich walnut stain. Another type of material that can offer the power duo of sturdiness and the appeal of the natural finish is the solid oak. Also, apart from a coffee table, you should also consider adding a few sofas.

Creating such space can mean a lot for the overall productivity of the employees as they will start to consider it a breakout space where they'll be able to to unwind and relax before getting back to their tasks again. And mind you, such a space doesn’t have to be huge - a corner of a room is more than enough. No great amount of serious work can be done for ten minutes, but ten minutes of relaxing in a comfortable area can give the workers a chance to recover.

Succulents are also perfect for adding a more harmony to any space and they're also easy to maintain. Their fleshy and thick parts make them very attractive to look at, and being small, they won't take up much space which makes them suitable for very small offices too. And lastly, why not give in to the latest craze – battery operated candles! A lot of these candles look just like the real deal ones, except they are safer in every possible aspect. They can be the cherry on top for making the office space more Zen-like and warm.
