If you own an RC car and you are passionate about the hobby, you are probably aware that you need to take good care of it by providing all the additional elements it needs. One such element is a quality charger adapter that will make sure that the RC car's battery will have a long-lasting life.  In order to choose the suitable remote control car charger adapter, you need to get acquainted with the type of battery your RC car has and choose a charger adapter that is intended for it. So, let's go through the details about batteries and charge adapters about your RC car.

There are four types of batteries that your RC cars can be powered on. The first ones are Alkaline and they are not rechargeable. Usually, they are used in transmitters, TV remotes and so on. The second type is Ni-Cd (Nickel Cadmium) which are rechargeable but are not eco-friendly and suffer from memory effect. The third type is NiMH (Nickel Metal Hydride) which are very easy to maintain and are robustly rechargeable. Finally, the fourth type is LiPo (Lithium-ion polymer) which has a higher energy density, lighter weights, consistent powerful discharge and more volatile than the other solutions and they need smart chargers.

Usually, RC car enthusiasts enjoy the pleasure of choosing the battery and other parts so they can build their ultimate experience. That is why the cost largely depends on the performance, weight and production of the parts. Taking these three factors into consideration, there are three types of chargers we need to pay attention to. The first type of remote control car charger adapter is the NiMH charger which charger the NiMH batteries. These batteries don't have a marked voltage spike on full charge, so there might be a problem with preventing overcharging. Therefore, the NIMH chargers are specifically designed so that they don't overcharge the batteries, damage them and reduce their life.

The second type of an RC car charger adapter is the LiPo charger which is intended to charge the LiPo batteries. In fact, these batteries can't be charged with any other charger as they have several cells that have a very specific voltage range and if you use a regular charger there is great chance that the batteries might explode into a ball of flames. So, you must have a LiPo charger and follow the next rules: never charge your battery unattended, never charge a damaged battery, always charge your battery at 1C or less, try to charge your batteries in a fireproof location, or in a lipo safe bag and before starting, make sure the number of cells and battery type are set correctly on your charger to match the cell count in your battery.

The third type is the smart charger or computerised RC battery charger which are a preferred choice of RC car hobbyists. It can be used to charge and maintain all type of batteries regardless of their size, capacity or voltage. Also, the smart charger ensures that the batteries are safely and accurately recharged every time. Finally, the most amazing feature these chargers have is they accurately tell the battery condition by showing how much charge goes into them.
